Who can play
This tournament is for NBS members, and their friends as partners.
✅ Each team needs at least one player with 4+ NBS sessions (our Monday, Wednesday or Friday sessions) in the 60 days before. Ages 15+, and juniors aged 15–17 need a parent or guardian to register them and attend.
Format
🏸 Men's doubles and women's doubles. Bring your own partner, and each player can enter one event only.
🤝 Games are self-umpired in the friendly NBS spirit. To keep it fair and the live scores flowing, players who aren't on court will help update the scores on the website (no umpiring needed). The round-robin table decides the winners.
Cost
💵 You pay a normal session share, around $17 for 2 hours or $25 for 3 hours. The non-winning players share the small cost of the prizes, usually just a few dollars each. It's a round robin, so every team plays every other team, and once the tournament's over you're welcome to stay for social games.
Prizes
- 🥇 Prizes in each event: each winner gets a medal plus a prize worth half a session share.
- 🥈 Each runner-up gets a medal.
